Biography

On the 14th of April 1996, Abigail Kathleen Breslin was born in a New York City. She has two older brothers, Ryan and Spencer Breslin, spencer has also been an actor from a very young age. in 1999 abigail booked her very first acting job and filmed a very cute Toys R Us commercial. It wasn't until 2001 at the age of five that abigail decided she was ready to star in her first movie. She became the tiny star of M. Night Shyamalan's 'Signs' and got wonderful praise for her perfect performance as Bo Hess. After appearing as a guest star in a few television series later that year. Abigail went on to star in the 2004 Comedy 'Raising Helen' playing Sarah Davis, Kate Hudson's niece and also co-stared with her real-life brother Spencer.

In 2004 Abigail filmed a small part in The Princess Diaries 2 as well as lead roles in Chestnut hero of central park, Keane and the Family Plan. She then went on to Record a voice over part as Rosebud in the animated puppy movie Airbuddies as well as appearing as a guest star in 'Ghost Whisperer'.

Then in June 2005 Abigail booked the role of Olive Hoover in Little Miss Sunshine Abigail stole the movie with her stunning performance. she was nominated for many awards for her portrayal as 'little miss sunshine' and became the fifth youngest person to be nominated for an academy award.

In 2007 'The Ultimate Gift' was released where abigail plays Emily, a spirited girl fighting of leukemia, Abigail Proved herself in this film with another outstanding performance. In late 2007 and early 2008 Abigail appeared in two more feature films, No Reservations and 'Definetly, Maybe' where as always she gave strong and loving performances opposite some of todays biggest Hollywood stars including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Ryan Reynolds. Later in 2008 Abigail will appear as the lead character in two more feature films, 'Nim's Island' with Jodie Foster and 'American Girl' .

Earlier this year Abigail replaced 10 year old Elle Fanning in a film adaptation of Jodi Picoult's "My Sisters Keeper", playing the lead role of Anna Fitgerald. This could possible be one of Abby's biggest projects yet and it will certainly be interesting to see her in a more serious role =)
At the young age of 12, Abigail has already built up an impressive resume, and I think it's safe to say we can expect even more great things from her in the future, be it in acting or any other profession she may choose =)
